Tracey A. Edwards

As the Region President of Operations for Verizon, Ms. Edwards led a team of 4,000 employees responsible for field operations of voice, broadband, and video services in various geographic areas throughout New York State. As leader of the Northwest region, Tracey was accountable for a 220+ million-dollar budget, delivering revenue, superior customer service, and overall area profitability. Tracey and her great team achieved the best customer service results in the country and best finance results in the state. Prior to her operational role, Tracey was Vice President of Staffing and Diversity where she led a team of diversity consultants corporatewide. Tracey’s responsibilities included recruitment, staffing, human resource policies, ethics, testing, employee resource groups and diversity councils. After retiring from Verizon in 2016, she was Councilwoman for the Town of Huntington as well as a Board Member of Elwood School District. Since 2008, Ms. Edwards has been the Long Island Regional Director of the NAACP. Previously appointed as a Commissioner on the New York State Public Service Commission, Tracey Edwards played a crucial role in shaping policies and regulations to ensure the efficient delivery of essential utility services to New Yorkers. She served in this capacity until September of 2023 when she transitioned to become the Chair of the Board of the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA), where she currently serves.

Kimberly Jean-Pierre

Kimberly Jean-Pierre began her public service career in 2007, working on local, statewide, and national campaigns across Long Island, New York State, and the country. She went on to serve ten years in the New York State Assembly, where she represented her community and advanced legislation focused on families, economic development, veterans, and underserved communities. During her tenure, she held key leadership roles, including Chair of the Veterans’ Affairs Committee and Chair of the bipartisan Legislative Women’s Caucus.

Prior to and alongside her legislative service, Jean-Pierre built an extensive record of public service on Long Island. She served as an aide to Suffolk County Legislator DuWayne Gregory and former Congressman Steve Israel, Director of the Town of Babylon’s Wyandanch Resource Center, and Vice President of Properties for the Town of Babylon Industrial Development Agency, focusing on community development, economic growth, and connecting residents with critical resources and services.

Jean-Pierre has demonstrated a strong commitment to civic engagement and community advocacy. She is a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, Rho Omega Zeta Chapter, and the NAACP, Central Long Island Branch. She is especially active within the Haitian-American community and previously served as Vice President of Haitian Americans United for Change, Inc. (HAUC), a grassroots community organization. She is the daughter of parents who immigrated from Haiti to the United States.

Jean-Pierre earned an Associate Degree in English from Medgar Evers College and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Brooklyn College in 2005. She later earned a Master of Science in Public Policy from Stony Brook University in 2007.

Luis E. Montes

Luis E. Montes is a seasoned public affairs and political consultant with more than 20 years of experience advising clients across state, county, and local government. He currently serves as a Senior Consultant at Strategic Pathways Group, where he provides strategic guidance on public policy, government relations, strategic communications, and MWBE initiatives.

Previously, Luis served as the principal lobbyist for Suffolk County before the New York State Executive Branch and State Legislature, helping secure major legislative and fiscal outcomes, including new revenue initiatives, transportation and traffic safety programs, and structural reforms. He has also led cross-functional teams implementing countywide civil rights, language access, accessibility, and human rights policies, while advancing MWBE participation in public procurement.

Earlier in his career, Luis spent more than a decade as Chief of Staff to a member of the New York State Assembly’s leadership team, where he oversaw legislative strategy and operations.

Luis holds a degree in Applied Mathematical Economics with a concentration in Asian Studies from Marquette University. He is fluent in English, Spanish, and German, with working knowledge of Chinese. Raised in a multicultural environment, he applies a global perspective to public affairs and government relations, helping clients navigate complex political and regulatory landscapes.
